What this site actually does
This is a static demonstration site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no third-party scripts or fonts, and has no server. The enquiry form validates in your browser and then stops — it does not transmit anything anywhere.
You can confirm that by opening your browser's network tab. There is nothing to see, because there are no outbound requests.
What a live version would collect
A working enquiry form would collect the details you type into it: your name, email address, the trek you're interested in, approximate dates, group size, walking experience and any notes you add.
That information would be used for one purpose — replying to your enquiry and, if you book, running your trip. A real operator would also need to share necessary details with guides, permit authorities and airlines, because permits and flights are issued to named individuals.
What it wouldn't do
- No selling or renting of personal data, ever.
- No marketing emails without a separate, explicit opt-in.
- No third-party advertising trackers.
- No retention of medical disclosures beyond the trip they relate to.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data held about you, correct it, have it deleted, or object to its processing. A live site would name a contact address for those requests and respond within the statutory period.
Before this goes live
Once a form endpoint, analytics or embedded map is added, this page stops being accurate. It must be rewritten to describe what the live site genuinely does, with a named data controller, a retention period, a legal basis for processing and a working contact route — and reviewed by someone qualified, particularly if you take bookings from the EU or UK.
